Poly Furniture
Poly lumber is the popular choice for outdoor furniture today, and for good reason. Poly Lumber is an environmentally safe product both in manufacturing and daily use. The poly lumber used in Kings’ outdoor furniture is made of durable high-density polyethylene (HDPE), plastics that are 95% recycled. Poly lumber has many advantages over wood. Unlike wood, it will not split, crack or rot, and is not susceptible to insect damage. Poly lumber easily maintained and is a dense material with the average weight of a chair being around 30-50 pounds. This means that even with strong winds you don’t need to worry about your outdoor furniture shifting.
Poly Care
To maintain the beauty of your furniture, clean it regularly with soap and water. Use only nonabrasive soaps. It can also be power-washed with 1500 psi or less. We recommend adding a splash of Listerine into your cleaning water as the scent deters bugs from sitting on your furniture. Poly will not promote bacterial growth. Do not place flower pots or any items on furniture that will leave stains. Do not place hot items directly onto furniture to avoid melting.
Fade Resistant Color
The color goes completely through the entire piece of the poly, and it contains an added UV protective agent to resist fading. Colors? A whole spectrum of fade-resistant vibrant colors or natural hues are available. It can withstand the elements—there is no need to cover it in rainy or snowy weather—and it never needs refinishing.
Hidden Hardware
Long, strong screws are wonderful for holding furniture together — but not so easy on the eyes. That’s why our suppliers take the time to do hidden hardware. It’s not an easy task, and many poly furniture manufactures don’t take the time or trouble to do it. Combining quality with comfort and beauty is the goal.
Corrosion Resistant Hardware
If you live near salty sea air, relax, your poly furniture from Kings can take nature’s pounding. The fasteners used are chrome plated stainless steel. Used widely in the saltwater marine industry, these fasteners resist corrosion better than the typical grades of stainless steel. However, in coastal areas, hardware will need regular rinsing with fresh water to eliminate rusting. If you properly care for your fine piece of poly furniture, you will be able to relax in it for many years!
